Hey guys! So i am writing today to tell you about my Sunday hair routine and some of my favorite products. Having Kinky-Curly hair, I like to deep condition once a week (sometimes my laziness get in the way though ;)) and wash my hair once a week. I used to use shampoo every week, but now i use a cleansing conditioner, it gets my hair clean without stripping it.
This is the AS I Am cleansing coconut co wash, i love this stuff, as you can see from the picture is a creamy product but the consistency is thin, which is great for cleansing. I like this because it gets my hair clean, detangles my hair while cleansing, and doesn’t strip my hair. Please be sure to condition afterwards because it is a cleanser and doesn’t t give you that much moisture. Also when i cleanse my hair i mostly just focus on the scalp.
Price: $7.99-$9.99 for 16 oz, great deal and i have had this same tub for a few months
Cons: The packaging is terrible for the shower, many times have a spilled this and got water inside the tub, grrr.
After i cleanse m hair i wrap it up in an microfiber towel, so the deep conditioner can penetrate better, and also because i just don’t like water dripping down my neck. I keep the towel on for about five minutes. 1st panel
Next i put on my deep conditioner, i usually use different combinations, but i always like to use honey and extra virgin olive oil, i love these two, they make my hair so soft, moisturized and shiny. This time i used two things i have never used before Alma Power and Brahmi Powder.
- Alma powder has many benefits especially for curly hair, add texture, volume, wave curl, adds shine, promotes hair growth, tightens up coils/curls and thicker stronger hair strands
- Brahmi Powder Strengthens the roots of your hair makes the hair denser, long, shiny, and dark toned, controls dandruff reduces the amount of hair loss, treats eczema and psoriasis.
Now i don’t know if i believe all these claims but wanted to try them out. Here is my mixture. 2nd panel with it on.
- 2 tablespoons Amla Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Brahmi Powder
- 1 Tablespoon of Organic Raw Honey (shine and moisture)
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Raw Organic Apple Cider vinegar (shine and clarifying)
- 1 Tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (moisture)
Then i just mixed it all together and applied it to my hair in section, detangling as i went along. I put on a plastic cap 3rd panel and left it on for about an hour. the washed it out.
Results: I was left with shiny moisturized hair, i really liked this combination, i felt the Alma powder helped form my curls, and the Brahmi powder helped my scalp, since i suffer a bit from dandruff.
Pro: Shiny hair, cleansed scalp
Cons: Combo not as moisturizing as others, and the smell of all the ingredients wasn’t that great,
All in all i would purchase the Alma Powder again but not sure about the Brahmi powder. But i love that this deep conditioner was all natural, and i can make it at home.
